![]() ![]() On a side note, I was looking to sell-off my G7.1ut in favor of the Line 6 Pod HD500X multieffects unit. I was able to get by with my Zoom 606 using this method.Īpart from the effects, the only nice thing about the G3 is the looper function. You could basically plan a setlist just by hitting on the "Next" switch. Whereas on the G2.1, each patch you have a good number of effects on it, and you press the switches to use a different patch. Good luck trying to tap on 2 switches simultaneously to access another bank. And if you do this incorrectly in the middle of the song, you're screwed. You have to press to switches together to scroll left or right. Each of its switches function like a stompbox: press on the switch to turn an effect on or off. So why did I recommend the G2.1 over the G3? The G3 is basically a stompbox modeler. ![]() He ended up with the G3 and after a few gigs, he's been having trouble with it. ![]() Having owned the Zoom 606, I recommended him the G2.1 over the G3 that he wanted. I have a colleague who was looking to buy an affordable multi-effects unit. I've also used a Zoom 1010, G707-II and a GFX8 back in the day and those were great products. I don't have a G3/G5 of my own, but do own a Zoom 606 and a G7.1ut. I've been a long time Zoom user, but the G3/G3X and the G5 disappointed me.
